Two tabs: Ask and Help
Doing something and asking how the business did now go in the same box, and the assistant works out which you meant. The tab that answers how-do-I questions is called Help.
The assistant had three tabs, and two of them were hard to tell apart. Do could record something or look one thing up; Evaluate could tell you how the business did. Which of the two a question belonged to was something you had to know before you could ask it — and it is not a line anybody thinks along when they have a question.
Now there are two. Ask takes both. Type record 22 miles for the Henderson job or how did last quarter go, and what moved, and it works out which you meant:
- A request still stops at the filled-in form and waits for you. Nothing is saved because you said it.
- A question one report answers — what did we invoice last month — comes back as that answer, with its figures and links.
- A question about how something went runs the reports it needs and writes a short summary over them, with the reports underneath. Every figure in the summary is checked against those reports before you see it.
Asking a question can never change a record, however it is worded. The reports it reads are checked before any of them run, and anything that would write is left out.
Help is the tab that was called Explain. It answers how to do something in SMG Tools from these help pages, with the parts of the help it came from underneath, each one a link. And if you type a how-do-I question into Ask and it cannot place it, Ask Help instead moves it across with your words still in the box — nothing is sent until you press Work it out there.
It costs what it did: doing something or looking one thing up is one step against your AI allowance, and a summary over several reports is two. The assistant is part of Professional and the 90-day trial.
