Card purchases on the job the same day, confirmed by whoever made them

Tie each business card to the worker who carries it, and every purchase on it is matched to the job they were on that day, for them to confirm with one tap from their phone. On Professional.

A purchase on a technician's business card in their For you on a phone — the supply house, the amount, the job it was matched to and why, with Yes for that job, Another job, and Not for a job.

A water heater bought at the supply house on the way to a job used to reach that job weeks later, when somebody sat down with the statement and worked out who bought what. Purchases matched to jobs puts it on the job the same day, and asks the person who bought it.

Whose card it is. On the tool’s Cards tab, tie each business card to the worker who carries it, or leave it shared for the office. A purchase on a worker’s card is theirs to confirm; a shared card’s waits for the office.

Matched by their day, not by guessing. When the bank reports a purchase, it is matched to the job that person was on: the only job of their day, or the one they were clocked into when they bought it, or the one they arrived at next. Each match says how it was made — Clocked into JOB-0142 at 9:40 AM, when you bought it — and a purchase somebody already entered by hand is offered as already recorded, so nothing is counted twice.

One tap from the field. The purchase waits in the worker’s For you: Yes, for JOB-0142 records it as an expense on that job, and the job’s costs and margin move with it while the work is still going on. Another job offers the rest of their day, and Not for a job sends it to the office. Workers see only their own cards’ purchases, never the card account.

The office settles the rest. Purchases, in the Money menu, lists what waits on the office — shared cards, ones a worker sent back — and what waits on workers, marking any that has waited three days. Owners and managers can record any of them, on any job or as overhead.

The bank feed itself got faster for everybody with it: transactions now arrive as your bank reports them, usually the same day, instead of only overnight.
