Expenses, on the job and off it

Record what you spend — against a job, or as a cost of running the business — and see it against what the job brought in.

An expense is either direct — materials, a subcontractor, a permit, tied to one job — or indirect, the cost of running the business: fuel, tools, the office. Both are recorded with a date, an amount, a category and a vendor, and a receipt can be attached.

Direct expenses appear on the job they belong to and on its invoice when you bill them through, so what a job cost is beside what it earned. The dashboard picks them up too, and quick actions on it let you record one without leaving the page.
