Setup names the equipment you work on
Tell us you install water heaters and service furnaces, and setup offers Water heater and Furnace as the kinds of unit you record, beside the kinds of work it already proposes.
Every unit you write down at a customer’s property — the furnace in the attic, the water heater in the garage — goes in a category, and since this week a new business starts with none: you name the kinds you actually work on, rather than scrolling past a list somebody else chose.
Setup now does the naming with you. When you give it your website, or a sentence about the business, the card that proposes the kinds of work you do also proposes the kinds of unit you work on, each with the words it came from. Keep them, untick any that are wrong, and the first unit you write down has somewhere to go.
It does not guess how long anything lasts. Where the product has a figure for that kind of unit, it shows it — a water heater, about 12 years. Where it has none, it says so, and you set one later if you want the age warnings. A business that mows lawns or cleans houses is offered no equipment at all, and nothing you already have is offered twice.
