Work that comes back: visits that repeat, and clients reminded when it is due again

Set a visit to repeat and each one is a job of its own, its times held. Give a kind of work how often it comes back, and see who is due again — and email them a link to book it.

A lot of your work comes back. The lawn every week, the house every other Tuesday, the gutters every fall, the furnace every year. SMG Tools now handles both kinds.

A visit that repeats. Open any visit and set it to repeat — every week, every two weeks, every month, the second Tuesday, through a season or until a date — and read the next visits in words before you save. Each visit is a job of its own, copied from the first with its price lines and its people, made a set number of days ahead, so it is finished, invoiced and costed like any other. Until then its times are held, so online booking never offers a slot the repeat will need. Skip one, move one, change every visit from a date, or stop it — the repeat’s page lists what is coming.

Customers can ask for it too. Mark a service as one that can repeat, and a customer booking it on your page picks Just once or Every two weeks. Their first visit is booked as usual; the repeat waits in For you for you to confirm, and they can stop it later from their own page.

Who is due again. Give a kind of work how often it usually comes back — gutter cleaning every six months, a tune-up every year — and Due again on the Clients page lists every client who had it and is due, overdue first, with Book. Their own page shows it too, with Book it. The kinds of work in your trade’s kit come with their intervals.

And the reminder. Switch on Remind the client when work is due again under Client Reminders, and each client is emailed in your name the days before their work is due — fourteen unless you choose otherwise — naming everything due that week, with a button to book each on their own link. Preview shows it as a real client would get it, and Send a test to me sends it to you. Whatever they book from it is marked Reminder, and Due again shows, month by month, the clients reminded and the work booked after — counted in What SMG Tools caught too.

Every reminder that asks a client for new work says so, carries your postal address and a link to stop them, and goes by email only; one stop covers them all and nothing else. It is all on every plan.
