Your business details
The name, logo and contact details that appear on everything your clients see, plus the settings the rest of the product reads.
Your organization is your business inside SMG Tools. It owns every client, job, invoice and expense — and its profile is what your clients actually see on the documents you send them.
Fill in your profile
Under Settings → Organization, set:
- Business name.
- Logo.
- Contact details — phone, email, address.
- Hours of operation.
These are not decoration. Your name and logo head every invoice, proposal, report and email your clients receive, and your contact email is where their replies go. A business that has not filled this in sends documents that look unfinished.
Your address is also used as the starting point for mileage and for judging how far away a job is.
Know what an organization is
Your business is the boundary around all of your data. Every record belongs to it, and nothing crosses from one business to another.
It is created once, when you register, and your account belongs to it from that moment. There is no step where you pick an organization or get moved between them.
Where the rest of the settings live
The organization settings area holds the things the rest of the product reads:
- Job Types — the kinds of work you do, which the reporting depends on.
- Labor Rates and Cost Templates — what work costs and what you charge.
- Modules — which parts of the product you want at all.
- Client Reminders — when clients get reminded about appointments.
- Service Zones — where you work.
- Online Booking and Bookable Services — what customers can book and when.
- Checklists, Measurements, Materials and Compliance — how the work gets recorded.
Each is covered by its own help page, and the settings navigation groups them the way you would look for them.
This page describes Organization. It is written from that feature’s record and covers what has shipped, never what is planned.
