Referring another business
Invite another business to SMG Tools and earn credit on your own subscription when they become a paying customer.
This is about referring another business to SMG Tools, which is a different thing from sending your clients a link to your own page. Invite somebody you know in the trade, and when they become a paying subscriber you get credit against your own bill.
Send an invitation
Open Referrals and enter the email address of the business you want to invite. They get an invitation to try the product.
Two limits:
- An email address can only be referred once, across the whole platform. Whoever got there first gets the credit.
- Up to 100 referrals per person, which is well past anybody’s real address book and exists to stop the feature being used as a mailing list.
Earn credit when they subscribe
When somebody you referred becomes a paying subscriber, you earn $5 in credit, applied to your account automatically. You do not claim it or ask for it.
The credit arrives when they subscribe, not when they sign up — a trial that never converts earns nothing, which is the honest way round.
Who can send and who can earn
Anyone can send a referral, including somebody on a free trial. Only paying subscribers receive credits, because a credit against a bill you are not paying has nothing to apply to.
If you refer somebody while on a trial and subscribe later, it is worth checking your referrals page rather than assuming.
