Your team and what each person can do

A business here can have more than one person in it. You invite somebody by email, choose what they are, and they accept, create their own sign-in, and see a product shaped by that choice.

Invite somebody

Open Team, enter their email address and pick their role. They get an invitation, set up their own sign-in, and they are in.

They can finish joining with a passkey and never set a password at all — see Passkeys. A password nobody chose is a password somebody writes on a sticky note.

Choose the right role

Role	What they get
Owner	Everything, including the things that make the business yours: the subscription, the bank accounts and payment setup, the business identity, the team itself, and the right to export or delete everything.
Manager	Runs the day — clients, jobs, proposals, invoices, the money, the reports, and the operational settings that decide how work is done.
Field	The crew’s own view of their day. A Field member cannot reach the console at all beyond their profile.

The Owner-only list is short and deliberate: it is the set of things that decide who owns the business and where its money goes.

Understand what a Field member sees

A Field member does not get a smaller console. They get a different product — one day at a time, sized for a thumb, three or four taps to record a fact.

That is why they are blocked from console routes rather than shown a cut-down version. An office user sits at a desk answering questions about many jobs; a field member is standing in a yard with one hand free and one question.

Know the difference between a member and a worker

Two records, and the distinction matters once you start assigning work:

• A member is somebody who signs in.
• A worker is somebody the business pays — employee or subcontractor.

Most people are both. A subcontractor who will never log in is a worker without a member, and you can still assign work to them and record their hours. See Assigning work and the day board.
